July 2 2012
With today being a national holiday, I took it a little easy with brunch followed by a walk. Was planning to go to an outside pool but they forecast rain, so decided to give that a miss…just as well, as they were right and the rain came mid afternoon.
During our walk around Le Plateau, we happened to come across these public phones. I’ve thought of taking a picture of them a number of times – in fact I probably have – but this time the graffiti on the wall behind was what caught my attention. The Letters actually spelt out rEvolution, but I had the idea of cropping the “r” out of the frame and having my girlfriend pose with her mobile phone. Unfortunately my model directing was not so great and it’s hard to see she is looking at her mobile – still, I like the concept.
It’s been a while since I shared a shot of outside staircases that are sooo Montréal. These were taken near avenue Mont Royal on avenue Christophe Colomb.
Some more stairs, this time on rue Cherrier.
I’m always on the lookout for old vintage cars and found this old Continental parked up alongside parc Lafontaine. I didn’t have the tripod, so took some handheld bracketed shots.
Shame the long weekend is over, but it was good while it lasted.

ANother set of great street shots Martin, you’re shots just make me want to have a day off work and wonder around the streets taking photographs. I admire your dedication everyday a post without fail ;-), Top notch shots again, well done!!
Thanks again Steve. Being out of work certainly has the advantage of giving me time to go out and shoot…I could do with a job though to help buy new toys 😉
