This year (the 4th edition) the art installation at the Place des Festivals is called Entre les Rangs. The inspiration of KANVA, in collaboration with Udo Design, Côté Jardin, Patrick Watson, Boris Dempsey and Pierre Fournier, the Luminothérapie installation will run from December 11th through to February 2nd.
Although it is not officially started yet I stopped by last night and took some pictures. Basically the installation consists of 20,000 flexible stems with white reflectors at the top to mimic a wheat field. At night the ‘wheat field’ will be bathed in light from projectors above, and with the wind moving the stems, light will be reflected of the stems. In addition as you walk through the ‘field’ you will be accompanied by music performed by local artist Patrick Watson.
Although there was no music and it appeared they were still testing the lights, I managed to get a few images that show what the installation looks like.
I look forward to seeing the final Entre les Rangs immersive experience and likewise the Trouve Bob – inspired by the popular game Where’s Waldo? – video projections that will be projected on 8 buildings around the Quartier des Spectacles during the event. No doubt I will be sharing more images over the coming months 😉
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
