Rue de la Commune and rue Saint Pierre

Following on from yesterday’s post, after making my way down rue Wellington, I walked through Old Montreal and grabbed a few more shots along the way.

The first was of the Grain Silo #5 taken from rue de la Commune. I decided to process in Lightroom using another favorite preset by Scott Kelby called Sin City as a starting point to give it a grunge feel.

On the corner of rue de la Commune and Marguerite d’Youville street is the wonderfull architectural building that is home to the 357C private club and restaurant that I shot earlier this month from Windmill Point.

Although I took a shot recently on rue Saint Pierre looking towards the Royal Bank building this one is from a different perspective on the other side of the street.

One of the many caléches that roam the streets of Old Montreal happened to go past at the time I was taking another shot looking down rue Saint Pierre.

I’m still enjoying converting some images to pencil line drawings in Topaz Adjust and then painting back in some of the photographic image. I used the technique on a shot taken along rue de la Commune towards the Pointe-à-Callière museum…

The final image for today’s post was taken of the old Sun Life building, shot from rue de l’Hôpital

You will notice that in front of the Sun Life building is an area of grass. I don’t know what if any plans there are for this small green space, but I imagine that it won’t be long before a developer announces a new condo development here. I personally would prefer that the area is kept as green space and given a much needed make-over. Perhaps a subject for a separate post and in the meantime I will try and research this specific location…If you have any knowledge of this spot, do let me know.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
