With rain in the forecast tomorrow I thought I better go check out the sand sculptures in the Old Port. The Art in the Sand (Art en Sable) competition is on between 22nd June and 1st July next to the clock tower and urban beach. Even though we have had some rain, the sculptures were in good shape – but likely tomorrow will change that. Perhaps the artists make repairs during the event?
Like last year, I unfortunately missed seeing the sculptures being built…I must put it in the diary for next year ! Again this year there were 3 main sculptures – this time the theme was sea monsters.

I tried to get an angle with solely the blue containers (that house the ticket office for the beach) in the background to give a bit of an ocean feel. This was the best I could do…

Another angle that I tried to shoot was with City Hall in the background – I thought a shark next to it would be appropriate given all the issues surrounding the Mayor(s) of this City. Unfortunately I couldn’t quite get the angle right, but I thought the idea was good 😉
