Still looking for inspiration on what to shoot, I decided yesterday to head on up Mount Royal. With the mornings feeling a little cooler these days it is evident that autumn is just around the corner. Although the odd tree is beginning to show a change of season, the mountain is still pretty green – and given the number of bites I received, even the mosquito’s are still out in force.
Something that I planned on doing was some abstract blur shots of the light in the trees – more on that another day :-).
Upon arriving at the chalet, I was pleased to see that there was a public piano at the Kondiaronk belvédère. I thought this might be related to the Piano des villes, pianos des champs event on Le Plateau, but this one is organised by the Ville-Marie borough under the name of Piano-Cité that has piano’s in 5 parks across the borough until the end of September.
I just wish I had been a bit later when the light had faded and the lamp next to the piano was turned on – that would have made for a great shot. Maybe I will try and visit before/after sunset tomorrow given that it is The Weather Channel’s Sunset Day over on Google+ and so hope to go and shoot the sunset- weather cooperating.
The location of the 5 pianos are:
- Belvédère Kondiaronk (Mount Royal)
- Boulevard De Maisonneuve Ouest (Corner of rue Guy)
- Parc Serge-Garant (Beaudry metro)
- In front of the Frontenac metro
- In front of St. James United Church
While I was at the lookout I couldn’t leave without taking at least a couple of shots of the view across downtown…
On my way to the staircase, I took a shot that was pretty much the same angle as one I shot way back in January 2012
Fingers crossed for a great sunset tomorrow ! Currently the forecast looks promising, 20+ degrees, sunny with some cloud moving-in late afternoon 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
