As I mentioned in the last post – Autumn on the Plateau – I ended up at Parc La Fontaine late afternoon yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised by how many trees were still showing off their autumn colours…and even the fountain was still working.
I arrived from the North side along rue Rachel when the sun was casting a nice light in the trees at theedge of the park and on Mount Royal in the distance.
The late afternoon sun was really making the trees glow a beautiful golden yellow with the odd red maple adding some striking contrast.
Although the light was dropping off quickly, the upper parts of the trees were still bathed in golden sunlight and were casting a wonderful reflection in the lake.
I left the park on the west side along avenue du Parc la Fontaine just as the last rays of sun were hitting the tops of the trees on the opposite side of the road. It has been a while since I used Topaz Adjust and the pencil sketch filter, so I decided to process this next image using the filter but then layered with the original HDR image with just enough opacity to add more definition to the detail in the corner building.
Topaz ReMask Offer ends Thursday
Speaking of Topaz Labs…If you have been considering purchasing their ReMask plugin, now is a great time to get it at the bargain price of $US34.99 (regular price $US69.99). But you need to hurry, the promotion ends this Thursday. Use promotion code octremask at checkout.
Also, I received a note from the company today that they will have Topaz B&W Effects on sale at 50% off at $US29.99 between November 5 and 19th (promo code novbw). If I have some time in the next few days I may try and do a product review. A great time to buy since winter photography always lends itself to monochrome shots 😉
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
