Mount Royal Park

Following on from yesterday’s post, here are a few more shots taken during my quick visit to Mount Royal.

I love the sculptures that are situated between Beaver Lake and the Smith house. The sculptures were created by a group of International artists attending the International Sculpture Symposium in 1964 – The first in North America. There are 11 sculptures remaining on site (there were originally 12) all of which I photographed and documented last year which you can view here: International Sculpture Symposium

Yesterday there were some great cloud formations in the background that I wanted to catch, and with the sun still being pretty bright on the white sculptures, decided to shoot 3 bracket shots and merge in Photomatix Pro so as not to lose the details in the cloud.

The sculpture (untitled) in the foreground is by the Austrian artist Joseph Pillhofer and in the background L’Ange de Pierre by Pierre Székely from Hungary.

I thought this red fire hydrant made a nice contrast against the wild flowers…

The flower beds around the chalet at the Kondiaronk lookout are in full bloom, particularly the ones just behind the chalet. I softened the image using Lightroom and Topaz Adjust.

The lookout was pretty busy, but this one guy relaxing on the steps caught my attention.

Having taken so many skyline shots from here, I refrained from taking any more yesterday, except for a shallow depth of field shot that focused on one of the information pointers.

The weekend looks like full sun and in the 30’s, so hoping to get out for a lot of shooting, maybe try to venture a little further  than my usual stomping ground for a change. Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
