Montreal In Pictures

It was a gorgeous day here in Montreal and what leaves are left on the trees were certainly looking good photography candidates. I actually was hoping to start shooting a small project I received that entails shooting street signs around town but given that the street signs will still be there tomorrow, but the leaves are disappearing quickly, I decided to prioritize in favor of shooting leaves.

The colours were so vivid in this alley I tried a few more pulled zoom shots and was quite pleased how the following 2 shots came out.

Although it was only supposed to be 12 degrees out today,in the sun it felt a lot warmer and there were quite a few enjoying a drink in the afternoon sun on terraces along rue Saint Denis.

The lower part of Mount Royal is now almost bare of foliage and looks very different to even just a few days ago.

Since I was still on the mountain and it was nearing sunset time, I headed over to the cliff over looking the Camillien Houde that offers a good vantage point for shooting sunsets. I found another advantage of shooting here is the fence provides a good camera support in lieu of a tripod (which I didn’t have with me today since I was only meant to have been shooting street signs).

Although I’ve been on Mount Royal quite a bit recently, I hadn’t been near the cross for a long time and I was pleased to see that the base is currently being renovated. Although I took quite a few pictures, I want to revisit to take some more, but here is a little teaser of the work being done.
