Reflections at the Bonsecours Basin

Although the warmer than normal temperatures of late are not providing many opportunities to shoot lovely winter scenes, the water lying on the surface of the ice in the Bonsecours basin provided the opportunity to photograph some reflections.

Many people may view the old Hangar 16 building on Clock Tower Quay to be an eye sore and would rather see it bulldozed. I actually like it and love the old faded murals on the west side. It would be nice though to see it converted and put to use rather than just an indoor parking lot. The Labyrinth that used to provide a fun maze each summer closed last year. I’m not sure the reason for it closing as it seemed pretty popular, but hopefully something new will fill the void.

Normally at this time of year, ice skaters would be enjoying the natural ice rink in front of the Bonsecours market, but as you can see, the weather has temporarily closed it.

Although the large bonsecours basin natural surface ice rink is closed, the artificial surface area is open and there were a few people out skating yesterday.

Time to recharge the batteries

Just to let you know, I will be away for the next 2 weeks and so I won’t be adding any new posts for a while – Unless I get bored and feel the urge to write something. I trust that by the time I return, winter will be back to normal!

I hope to take the opportunity to recharge the batteries and return with new inspiration for sharing shots in and around Montreal.

All orders for prints and books received last week have been dispatched (you should have received tracking #), but please note new orders received will not be processed until the first week of February.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
