Project 365 – Day 320: A trip up avenue du Parc for some evening skyline shots

November 15 2012

I had planned to go east and shoot the Jacques Cartier bridge at sunset, but I was too late leaving to make it in time, so I decided to make use of the more local attractions.

The great thing of living where I do is that I’m only 5 minutes walk from the George Étienne Cartier Monument and the pretty good views of the Montreal sky;line from avenue du Parc.

I realize I’ve shared images from this particular area a few times before, but I think I managed to capture some different views and atmosphere tonight. There seemed to be a lot of planes overhead this evening and was difficult to take long exposures without a plane coming in to view. Most of the time the flight paths were straight across and riuined the image (although I could always clone the trails out if needed). But I liked how the one in the next image was circling and I think added some extra interest to the image.
