Despite the on-going thaw, the ice fishing village in the Old Port of Montreal is still open for business, although I’m sure they are hoping the temperature returns to seasonal normality very soon.
This is the second year Montreal has an ice fishing village in the Old Port and I believe it was a great success last year. There are 30 heated shelters available to rent (check website for rates) in addition to lots of space (300,000 feet) for those hardy enough to sit outside and wait for the perch, walleye and burbot to bite.
There’s probably not many people opting for the heated cabins the last few days and certainly today under a misty sky I only saw people fishing outside.
Despite the overcast day, I managed to get a few more shots while down in the Vieux Port – which I will share in another post.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
