Street crossing on avenue du Parc

Another dull uninspiring day to be out taking photographs today. Although the rain had stopped by the time we had finished brunching on rue Saint Denis, the still overcast sky made everything look drab and I had no creative spark guiding me on what to shoot. Normally on days like this I either head indoors (the RÉSO and churches being my favourite fall-back options) or looking for interesting street style shots, but neither of these offered much in the way of appeal today – Hopefully this is just a short lapse in creative inspiration.

I did take a couple of shots at the street crossing on avenue du Parc next to the George-Étienne Cartier Monument. I’ve posted shots taken at the same spot before, so I went for some creative post processing.

The first shot I decided to add some creative blur using Topaz Lens Effects to emphasize the dreary day…

The second image is a simple HDR processed shot using Photomatix Pro from HDRsoft to merge 3 exposures and then in Topaz Adjust I used the clarity pre set with some additional tweaks to bring out the details…

A partial solar eclipse at sunrise tomorrow

Tomorrow is looking like it will be a much better day. If I can get myself out of bed before sunrise, I may even try to catch the partial solar eclipse that will be visible as the sun rises. If I manage to be up in time (and get a reasonable image) I will certainly be sharing tommorrow.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
