I made a quick tour of the Montréal en Lumière 2014 festival site down at the Quartier des Spectacles last night. This was the opening night and since it will be running until March 2, I daresay I will make a few visits during the festival as there are a number of interesting photo opportunities given the various activities and light displays taking place.
I actually got a bit sidetracked shooting some time lapse sequences, so I don’t have that many still shots to share from my first visit.
One thing I liked was that the ferris wheel is now located on rue Saint Catherine rather than on the corner of rue Bleury and boulevard de Maisonneuve.
The festival this year seems a lot more colourful than I remember from past events and if you’re in need of some colour stimuls after 2+ months of white snow, a trip to the Montreal High Lights festival will certainly help 🙂
As I mentioned at the beginning, I took a few time-lapse sequences and so I put together a short video accompanied bythe song Friterday Night by the great Québec group Misteur Valaire…I think they have the shortest and easiest url I know: mv.mu 😉
I’m glad I visited last night given it has been raining here all day. I hope tomorrow will be better as it’s the Montreal Ice Canoe Challenge (défi canot à glace Montréal) down in the Old Port. Last year it snowed heavily, but I prefer that to freezing rain!
Thanksfor stopping by. Until next time.
