The title is a bit misleading in that I’ve shot the view from this location on Mount Royal many times before, but I was amused to find that someone had written the word ‘FRESH’ in the snow along the escarpment path.
At the time I thought it was written with stones (it was dark and I didn’t fancy slipping on ice and falling over the cliff) and so didn’t get up close to the letters. When I was processing the images I realised that the letters were in fact written with strawberries – If only I had known at the time đ
I imagine some lucky squirrels or racoons are having a feast tonight.

The staircase leading to the Camillien Houde lookout had a sign saying it was closed for winter, but judging by the trampled snow, I was not alone in ignoring the sign. I’m not sure why they close this off at winter, perhaps to save cleaning another staircase of snow.
