Given that it poured with rain all day today, I’m glad I went and got a few pics down at the FrancoFolies de Montréal festival last night. Celebrating its 25th anniversary, the festival opened on Thursday night and runs to the 22nd.
As always the festival is held down at the Quartier des Spectacles. This year features nearly 250 shows, including 150 free outdoor concerts. The organisers estimate that 850,000 will attend the festival which has about 1,000 musical artists from a dozen countries performing at 15 different venues, eight of them outdoor stages.
Last night I caught 2 acts – Émile Proulx Cloutier and Pierre Kwenders – neither of which I was familiar with, but worth checking out.
Hopefully I will get to go a few more times in the coming days.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
