December 20 2012
I managed at last to go and get some shots of some of the office building Christmas decorations along McGill College avenue this evening.
Along with the lights on pretty much every tree along the avenue, many of the buildings have some nice decorations on display.
On this first image you can also see the reflection of the 1501 McGill College avenue tower that has the top pyramid styled structure illuminated in red and green festive colours.
I wanted to get a shot of the illuminated line of trees in the center of the street. In order to have the car trail lights as well as the narrow depth of field to give some bokeh on the distant tree lights, I actually merged 2 images in PS Elements. The bokeh image was shot at f3.8 and 1/10 sec, while the car trail lights were captured at f19 and 3 secs.
The 1501 McGill College avenue tower has a nice big red bow over the doorway…
Although I’ve shot the PNB Paribas building and The Illuminated Crowd a number of time already, I had to grab a few more shots to include the Christmas decorations.
15 cm of snow is in the forecast for tomorrow, so hopefully I will manage to get out and shoot some winter scenes.
