I really admire the skills of street photographers like Eric Kim, Mike Shaw, Thomas Hawk et al and is a skill I would love to develop. So for part of my quick photowalk downtown this afternoon I prowled around Place des Arts for a while on the lookout for potential subjects. I only found 2 🙁
When I was out last night I had noticed that there was an abundance of tulips now in flower outside the Christ Church Anglican Cathedral on rue Sainte-Catherine, so I decided to head over and grab a few shots. I’m not sure HDR works that well on the flowers, but I wanted to get the detail of the church in the background, so decided to give it a try. I visited Christ Church back in February if you are interested to see the interior.
Having experimented with creating “floating buildings” last month, I now find myself looking at various buildings imagining how they would turn out using the effect. I was quite pleased with how one of the apartment blocks of La Cité on Avenue du Parc came out.
Other floating buildings can be found in my post on April 19 (I was particularly pleased with how the Cirque du Soleil big top came out). If you are interested, I also posted a tutorial on the creation processes.
