Bikes overrun with ivy

Another unseasonably warm day in Montréal today, but at least it wasn’t raining like yesterday. After living here 14 years the swing in temperature still surprises me at times…here we were last week, complaining it felt like -40 and a few days later it was +8…It really is no surprise why Canadians love to discuss the weather so much.

Still, the warm temperature and lack of rain today didn’t give me much inspiration on what or where to photograph. I simply took 15 minutes to walk a few blocks either side of boulevard Saint-Laurent just north of avenue des Pins.

Since the sky was looking pretty drab, I tried to find some objects of interest and as luck would have it I came across some motorbikes and bicycles that were being overrun with ivy…They look like they have been here a while and hope they will be around for the rest of the year as I think it could be fun to shoot them in the different seasons.

I couldn’t recall if I had photographed and shared these colourful balconies on avenue Coloniale before, but if so, here they are again…
