Tormented – Habitat 67

There are some great sculptures in the Old Port of Montréal, which I have still yet to photograph in depth – something I will certainly be doing in the near future with a new project that I am embarking on to document all the public art in Montréal 😉

I was interested to try taking a shot of Habitat 67 through a gap in the bronze Femme Tourmentée sculpture (1942) by Andrée Masson. When taking the shot, I thought the hole looked a bit like an eye. After processing, it now (to me anyway) resembles a close encounter with an alien form – maybe I should cut down on the coffee.

Here is a more standard view of Habitat 67 taken near the Alexandra quay…

I decided to experiment a bit with this shot using some creative blur and streak adjustments in Topaz Lens Effects

I still have some more shots to process from Friday’s little photo walk in the Old Port – including a sighting of a ghostly figure high up in the grain silo #5 – but they will have to wait until tomorrow !

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
