To finish the year, I would have liked to post some shots actually taken in Montréal, but not having been out shooting today I have instead some final shots taken during my trip to Québec city – or rather, I should say, ships and some winter landscapes along route 138.
With this shot of the Pierre Radisson taken from the Terrasse Dufferin (and recently the Des Groseilliers in Montréal) I seem to be gradually collecting images of the Canadian Coast Guard Ice Breaking fleet.
The Maersk container ship Penang also passed by on its way to Montréal.
While I’m on the subject of ships, here was another shot that I took later in the day from route 138 of a Canada Steamship Lines cargo ship.
Okay, enough pictures of ships for one day.
I always like taking the 138 road back from Québec and despite the blowing snow from the strong wind making visibility not the best, it did make for some nice landscape shots at times (and when I found the will to leave the nice warm comfort of the car).
My favorite shots of the journey home came though when I saw this lonely ice fishing hut out on the frozen Saint Lawrence river.
Perhaps tomorrow (or in the coming days) I will do a roundup of images taken during 2013.
I now need to think what I should focus on in 2014. There are still many places and events I have yet to cover, and I will certainly continue to post images on a regular basis here and on the various social networks. I have a couple of ideas for new features on the site and hope to get round to implementing them during next year.
Thank you for stopping by throughout the past year and I wish everyone a great 2014 !!!
