So much for going and taking pretty winter landscapes as I had planned. Although the forecast predicted 15 cm of snow for Montreal, it was borderline whether it would snow or rain. Despite some nice snow mid morning, by the afternoon it had turned to rain – pretty winter scenes were going to be hard (more like impossible) to find.
So instead I decided to go and photograph the interior of the Notre Dame Basilica. I’m surprised I’ve actually held off shooting this amazing top tourist attraction for this long during my 365 project. Given the weather I thought it would be packed with tourists but I was lucky and it was fairly quiet, allowing me to shoot without too many heads, legs getting in the shot.
I decided to shoot entirely HDR and it was nice that they have no issues with regard to tripods at the Basilica.
Unfortunately I’m a bit tired to go into any history about the Basilica, but if you are interested in learning more, the Basilica’s official site has lots of info.
I took quite a few shots, of both the main Basilica and the Chapel of Notre-Dame du Sacré-Cœur behind the Altar.
