Old Montreal random shots

For today’s post I have a few random shots taken last night from my visit to Old Montreal.

It was overcast around dusk, so no glorious sunset I’m affraid, which was a shame since I decided to go to Champ-de-Mars to shoot the skyline.

Next stop, rue Saint-Paul. It was after 5pm and the street was almost deserted, even cars were infrequent, allowing me to take a quick shot from the centre of the road looking west from Place Jacques-Cartier.

On the corner of rue Saint-Vincent and rue Saint-Paul is the French cuisine and wild game restaurant, La Sauvagine. Another restaurant I have yet to try, but the menu looks tempting.

I couldn’t visit Old Montreal without making a quick stop at Place d’Armes. It wasn’t long ago that I was here, so I only took the one shot from the entrance of the Notre-Dame Basilica.

At the bottom of Côte de la Place d’Armes at the intersection with rue Saint Antoine I paused to take a shot looking back towards Place d’Armes and the basilica. I waited for a few cars to drive up the street so as to get some car light trails in the shot. I quite like this angle and one I have not shot from before.

The building on the left is the Place d’Armes Hotel. Built in 1870, it was formerly known as the Life Association of Scotland building.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
