This evening I was down in Old Montreal and walked up rue Saint Sulpice next to the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montreal.
Often when I have tried to shoot here before there have been lots of cars parked, which hinders taking shots of the street. But this evening I was fairly lucky with only a few cars blocking the sight lines to the windows of the few stores along this street.
A popular store, particularly at this time of year, is Noël Éternel. Although open year round, it always seems special in the run up to the holidays…Shame we have no snow yet to make this a perfect Christmas card scene 😉
Speaking of Christmas cards, I decided to print some of my favorite winter shots as cards and should be getting a parcel in the post soon. I didn’t order many, but if anyone is interested in having some Montreal specific cards to send to family/friends send me a message, as I may have a few available for sale in the coming weeks.
Just down the street from Noël Éternel is a Tea House called Ming Tao Xuan. Even though we Brits are renowned for our fondness of the odd cuppa, I’ve not actually been to this tea house, so can only say it looks great from the outside.
On the corner of rue Saint-Paul is another great store – Bali Art.
To finish, here is a shot looking back up rue Saint Sulpice towards the Notre-Dame Basilica.
Montréal 2012 book now available
Today I finally got round to finalising my first photo book – Montréal 2012 – which you can check out in the Montreal in Pictures store. You can currently buy direct from Blurb, but I plan making it so you can purchase direct from this site. I had fun creating this one and already thinking of future subjects (other than Montréal 2013) to keep me busy in the future.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
