I first stumbled across this great little artistic alley on the Plateau last year during my 365 project and happened to pass by again today. It seemed even more colorful this time being summer rather than October.
Quite a few objects are still in situ from last year, including the bathtub and toilet planters.
and the chest of drawers…
It was good to see the old organ was also still serving a useful purpose as a planter.
I imagine the neighbors have a great sense of community spirit here and likely spend many evenings sitting and chilling in their unique urbanscape. It would for sure be a great place to shoot at night lit by candles and playing with the shadows and reflections…Maybe I will be lucky one evening to pass by when the neighbors are out partying and they don’t mind me taking a few shots.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.

Salut Martin! We call this Burner A)'(ey since several of the people who help to beautify and maintain it are attendees of the Burning Man arts festival in Nevada, among many other talented and creative Montreallers. There are informal get togethers and work days there semi-regularly and a couple of times a year there are some pretty great parties. Maybe we’ll see you there some time!
Thanks Kay for enlightening me on the background to this great space. Attending Burning Man in Black Rock is on my bucket list 😉 I’ll certainly be checking out the website for the Brûleurs de Montréal and hope to catch one of your parties !
