The great thing with having missed the MURALES festival that was held back in June (13th-16th) is that the murals can still be seen in their full beauty. Not really sure how I missed this event, but you certainly can’t miss the great art that has brightened up many dull facades along boulevard Saint-Laurent – although some have replaced existing murals.
35 local and international artists converged on Saint-Laurent during the public art festival and created around 20 murals along a 2km stretch (from rue Sherbrooke to avenue du Mont-Royal.
I only photographed 2 of the murals today while up on Saint-Laurent but hope to get around to shooting them all over time. The first is on the corner of Duluth and is by the Paria Crew from Montreal…
OTHER from Toronto painted the mural on rue Napoleon that depicts 2 card players
There are lots more great murals (particularly on the walls adjacent to the car parks near Excentris cinema). Unfortunately each time I happen to be passing there always seems to be cars parked in front…but I will persevere.
Madeleine Decker has some great shots of most (if not all the murals) plus some great shots during the event that are worth checking out. Hopefully I won’t be snoozing and miss the next time this event happens.
Although I didn’t have time to go shoot more today, I did grab a couple of other shots along Duluth toward Avenue du Park.
Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
