I passed by Christ Church Cathedral this evening and saw that the Christmas decorations are up in the little square that sits between the rear of the cathedral and the KPMG tower. It is one of the prettiest festive decorations I’ve seen so far, but I’m sure I will be shooting many more over the next month.
I thought I would try shooting the same shot above but out of focus. I think I may have de-focused a little too much, but I’ll share the result anyway.
At the front of Christ Church Cathedral on rue Sainte Catherine the trees are decorated with large stars. I tried shooting from the other side of the street but there was too much traffic at the time…I guess this angle will have to wait until I’m out shooting later in the evening. I did get one from the side though which is quite nice with the Bay department store in the background.
It was a clear night and the almost full moon in view just above the nearby buildings and I thought it would be fun to try and get a shot with some of the Christmas lights in the frame. It took a few attempts to get the correct exposure so that you could make out the lights without the moon being blown out, but I was quite pleased with a couple of the shots.
