I’ve been meaning to shoot the great mural at the loading dock of the Théâtre ESPACE GO on blvd Saint-Laurent for a while. Since I was passing by today, it seemed like a good subject for today’s pic.
The mural was commissioned by the Theatre as a way to prevent the dock area from being constantly bombed with Graffiti. They called on MU (a nonprofit promoting public art in Montreal) to produce a mural and the resulting art piece was created. A team of artists collectively known as En Mass worked for 2 days in August 2011 and over a year later the mural remains untouched by graffiti taggers.
The artists: Caro Caron, Zema, Mireille B. Utcher, Krista Bursey, Peru Dyer, flexib, Tyler Rauman, Jason Botkin, Fred Caron and Frank Lam.
As I did with another mural produced by MU on Saint-Denis (Manifeste à Paul-Émile Borduas), I decided to create a collage to show the entire art work. This one was created using 13 images stitched using Photoshop Elements 10.
I came across this video on Vimeo that shows the artists at work.

While crossing avenue du Mont Royal I happened to look up and saw that two plane vapor trails had formed a perfect cross overhead.
