Project 365 – Day 287: Houses of ivy

October 13 2012

I didn’t have a lot of time today to spend on taking pictures, so I just shot a couple of pics on the way back from brunch on Le Plateau.

Work has started on a major make-over of Saint Louis Square that is budgeted at around $600,000. The park is now closed to the public while the renovations are carried out – I read the work is planned to be completed in June 2013, which means a long time not to have one of my favorite parks open 🙁 I’ve not been able to find out what 600,000$ is buying but looks like new paving will be installed to replace the old asphalt, and a pile of old benches probably means new seating will be installed. I just hope they keep the quaint Victorian design and don’t remove any of the trees.

The square is closed off by high fencing, but I managed to get a shot over the top. I look forward to seeing the work progress and the re-opening.
