August 31 2012
Another milestone reached today being 2/3rds of the way through the year. 122 days left to go still seems a lot, but with autumn colors just around the corner, hopefully I’ll make it to the end – I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.
As for today’s image…few days ago I was walking along Crescent Street south of Sainte Catherine and saw a great view that I knew I had to return to with my camera to capture.
The old buildings along rue Crescent (many being bars) are low-rise and provide for a great juxtaposition against the much taller modern office towers.
For a slightly different angle I walked up the adjacent rue Bishop.
I hadn’t really noticed before that the building on rue Sainte Catherine with the graffiti on the west wall almost matches the step design of the SUn Life building in the background.
I love shooting architecture and particularly when there is a juxtaposition between old and new. Today was a bit of a trial run and I’ve got some other locations I know are begging to be photographed, so be assured more will follow. Today, the rain stopped me shooting more 🙁

I like the 3 Brasseurs’ one. Good composition. HDR enhances it well.
Thank you Martin, and I did well to continue walking given my liking to the 3 Brasseurs beer 🙂
