This is the 6th year that NASCAR has rolled into Montreal for the annual racing event held at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit on Ile Notre-Dame.
Like when the Formula 1 hits town earlier in the summer, rue Crescent is closed to traffic and becomes the site of a multi-day street party. So even for people like me who don’t have tickets to the race you can still soak up a little NASCAR buzz. The NASCAR week though is no match to the vibe and parties that accompanies the F1. Still, it’s a good draw for tourism and the local business economy 🙂

I am not really a fan of NASCAR but those are beautiful shots.
Must admit I’m more of an F1 fan, even more rally driving – but the NASCAR road circuits as opposed to the oval seems a bit more exciting.
Fantastic set of shots here Martin, very envious that your City is hosting the NASCAR, i would love to actually see one of these races live 😉
Thanks Steve…I still haven’t actually been and watched it live yet 🙁
