There’s a wonderful small intimate café on the corner of avenue Duluth and Coloniale called Fuchsia Epicerie Fleur. I’ve yet to actually go inside, but love the old style interior. I processed the following single exposure image in Photomatix to help try and bring out a little detail of the dark interior. Maybe I’ll try to get some HDR pics from inside when I have my tripod with me.
On the opposite corner there’s a second hand store and I thought the furniture on display outside would make for an interesting image.
A couple more shots taken along avenue Duluth.
This past week in Montreal there was the annual bike Fest which culminated today with the Tour de l’Île de Montréal that attracted 25,000 cyclists to cycle 50km around Montreal. The other big event during the bike fest is the tour la nuit that took place on Friday evening and saw 17,000 participants cycle 22 km around Montreal. I didn’t participate, but did cross a couple of streets on the cycle route. With the route closed to traffic, it’s not a day to be driving your car in downtown.
I can’t resist taking pictures of old cars when I come across them and saw an old Westfalia and an MG on my little walk about this afternoon.
With the F1 Grand Prix arriving in Montreal next week, I’ll be likely shooting quite a few cars in the coming days. Unfortunately due to the student protests the open day at the race track has been cancelled this year for security reasons which I was planning to attend. Having just spent on a new camera, I can’t really afford to buy tickets, so probably won’t make it to the track, but will be sure to try and capture some of the festivities in and around rue Crescent later in the week.
