Despite my back still making it hard to walk, I did manage to get out for a bit and made it down to Champ de Mars which runs behind City Hall and the Old Courthouse (now known as the Lucien Saulnier building).
I decided to try a panoramic shot, shooting from the edge of the new Court House (far right) to the Municipality Court (yellow building on the left). The main building with the dome roof is the Lucien Saulnier building and to the left is City Hall.

On my way back I noticed some daffodils and other yellow spring flowers (sorry I don’t know the variety) next to the Champ de Mars metro entrance. I thought they added a nice foreground to City Hall in the distance. I would have experimented with some different angles, but my back was starting to cramp up and I didn’t fancy getting stuck in some weird position. Even for this shot I had to guess the composition as I couldn’t bend down to look through the view finder.

Since downloading the beta version of Photoshop CS6 and seeing the built in Tilt-Shift blur feature I’ve been on the look-out for a suitable location. On René Lévesque there’s a new condo project which I thought might be a good subject.
Having experiment with Tilt-Shift in PS before, but doing it the long way, I was pretty impressed with how easy it is in CS6. The only issue I had was the blur cutoff cutting through the digger at the top as I didn’t want the cars parked on the right to be in focus.

I now want to go looking for more tilt-shift opportunities given how easy it is in the latest photoshop, but need to find them soon as I guess the free Beta version won’t be available for too long.
