Down on rue Sainte Catherine on the corner of avenue de l’Hotel de Ville is the Henri Henri hat store. The store has been in business since 1932, founded by Mr. Honorius Henri and Mr. Jean-Maurice Lefebvre and is one of the most renowned hat stores in Canada. In the early days, Henri Henry specialized in men’s hats but now offer hats for women and teenagers.
An interesting fact I found on their website is that between 1950 and 1970, Henri Henri rewarded any NHL player who scored 3 goals in a game at the Montreal Forum with a free hat that gave rise to the term “Hat Trick” being used in Hockey.
There is a relatively new mural on the west side of the store.
On the wall facing the Henri Henri mural is this mural/graffiti.
In fact the whole city block has some amazing wall art.
I shot some montages to try and show the scale of the graffiti/art. I admit that I took the quick route for a couple of the montages by selecting “blend” option in photoshop.
To keep in a graphic artsy kind of theme, my last shot is of some colorful public toilets near place des Festivals.
