With the forecasters predicting thunderstorms would be hitting Montreal this afternoon I decided to head over to Ile Sainte Hélène hoping that I may be able to catch some lightning bolts over the city skyline.
Unfortunately (for my plans anyway), the thunderstorm didn’t materialize, so I had to make do with a couple of HDR and some long exposure shots of the Saint Lawrence river and the Montréal skyline beneath some fairly standard clouds.
A rare self-portrait…and one that lasted 36 seconds 😉
I hadn’t planned on making it a lengthy outing but I’ve been wanting to try the interval timer feature on the Nikon 7000 to do some time-lapse and I thought the location and the cloud movement made for an ideal opportunity for a test run. I ended up shooting over 1,000 frames (mostly at 5 second intervals). I didn’t have a lot of time for editing (and a few sections really needed the scissor treatment), but I was quite happy for a first test.
