During a short walk around the Plateau today I came across this vintage Volkswagen parked in front of a dépanneur (small convenience store) and next to a pothole. I thought it made a great subject for an HDR shot. I didn’t have my tripod with me, so had to take the 3 exposures handheld. But with the camera set to auto bracketing and continuous high speed shooting I was able to grab 3 shots without too much problem.
Unfortunately the name badge was removed and I don’t know the model of this old Volkswagen – anyone know?
During the summer months at the entrance of the Mount Royal metro station there’s a small public market (Kiosque Mont Royal) selling local grown produce.
A fun sight at Mount Royal metro are the 3 giant chairs. I thought this guy was looking comfortable.
This morning I went for brunch with my girlfriend to Le Café Cherrier which in summer has a great terrace. The ivy growing around the terrace provides a nice barrier from the busy Saint Denis street.
Else’s is a great bar on the corner of rue Roy est and de Bullion. Loved the bright blue of the wall and green ferns – looked like it would be at home in southern Europe.
To all my fellow Québécois(es), Bonne fête de la Saint-Jean-Baptiste pour demain 🙂

Looks like a Volkswagen Type 3 Wagon. It’s going to look pretty sweet when it’s finished!
Well spotted Stephane, I believe you are right 🙂
Nice shots Martin, like the low down angle on the HDR shots on the vintage VW ;-), hope you both enjoyed your brunch at the Le Café Cherrier, its looks a lovely place to eat.
Thanks Steve…I always enjoy coming across these old vintage cars around town. Brunch was great thanks – was back there again today with it being a holiday here today 🙂
Ah, Else’s. Spent many a fab evenings there!
It’s been a while since I went to Else’s for a drink…always tempted though when I pass by.
