Last Thursday I took a wander around the Montreal Botanical Garden. The sky was overcast, so didn’t make for the greatest light conditions to be shooting under, and of course, with deep snow on the ground, not much in the way of plants to see. But with hardly any other person around, it was a great place to take a peaceful walk and enjoy the open space.
I began my walk at the Chinese Garden. It was looking quite different to the last time I visited during the Gardens of Light event last October.

After exploring the Chinese garden, I headed over to the adjacent First Nations Garden. The only point of interest at this time of year is the tipi.

To finish my walk, I made my way around the Flowery Brook. Summer is apparently the best time to visit this garden when in June the irises and peonies are in full bloom, followed by the lilies and daylilies in July. But even on a cold winter’s day, you feel like you are miles from the city – that is except for the Olympic tower looming in the distance.
