October 10 2012
The good weather was too good to last and today was overcast and started raining in the afternoon…just as I headed out the door to go get a few shots for the day.
I didn’t have any pre-conceived thoughts on what to shoot today, so headed down to Old Montreal. Who knows, I could have seen the lost Beluga whale that has been sighted in the Saint Lawrence outside Old Montreal. This would be the first time a whale has wandered so far south down the river. Authorities believe it is either a youngster that is lost or an adult that is unwell. Whichever, hopefully he/she will find its way back toward the ocean and salt water.
Not surprisingly, I didn’t see any sign of the Beluga. I did see a lot of seagulls though…
Thankfully the rain wasn’t too heavy and I managed to get a few dull autumn shots of the Montreal skyline and Bonsecours Market.
Just as I got to rue Saint Paul the rain began to come down quite heavily, but the dark sky and street and store lights made it worth getting a little to grab a few last shots for the day.
