Warm Pigeons

It was so cold yesterday (-42 with windchill) that I decided to head straight home after brunch to the warm and didn’t stop to take any shots. It did give me time though to put together a video of a sample of the nearly 2,000 shots that I posted during 2013. In case you wonder, the images are simply in the order that they were shot…Maybe one day I will get around to doing something a bit more artistic with all the images I have amassed over the last 2 years.

I put the images to some tracks by David Marin from his album Le choix de l’embarras. If you’re a fan, I see that he will be playing at L’Astral on Feb 27 during the Montréal en Lumière festival!

Today was still on the chilly side but not so bad (feeling like -27) and I did manage to take a few shots early this afternoon.

On cold days, pigeons can often be found huddled up on the grid that blows warm air on the corner of avenue du Parc and rue Prince Arthur. When I passed by today there was a small congregation gathered warming themselves up and I waited for a suitable film title to flash up on the Cinéma du Parc sign.

I didn’t have much time for wandering around looking for subjects to photograph today, so I took a quick walk around the McGill Ghetto and ended up taking just a couple of shots along rue Prince Arthur. Certainly a day to be out in the big coat, hat, gloves and scarf…

I was actually more in the mood for a warm English pint of beer in a pub with a fireplace, but I thought the sign was appropriate for the weather.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
