Pictures without a theme

A couple more images from Monday when I roamed a few streets on the Plateau. There’s no real theme for today’s post which includes; a line of steps, a buddha, a raft of plastic ducks, an old cine camera,  a bike with poster, a lock, and a flower – so a bit all over the place.

I’ll start with the line of steps…this was shot on rue de Bullion – a change from the numerous outside staircases you generally see on the Plateau.

I spotted this little guy chilling by his very own mini waterfall…very calming.

There’s a store called Couleurs on rue Saint-Denis, that has a great selection of furniture and household objects from the 40’s to the 70’s – It,s like walking onto the set of MadMen. Their window display caught my attention with a raft of yellow plastic ducks beneath a chair.

Staying with window displays, a store (I didn’t take note of the name) on avenue du Mont-Royal had an old cine camera in their display that I thought would make for an interesting photo subject…I liked that there was a lit bulb in the background and the reflection of the outside appeared in the clear bulb on the camera.

I’m not sure what the poster in the next shot is – although I saw quite a few here and there, but thought it might make an interesting shot with the bike.

Having missed out on the Botanical Garden part of the Google +2 photowalk last Saturday, I felt I should get a shot of this flower – which I think is a variety of Freesia, but I’m no flower expert.

Planning for shooting fireworks

Although there has already been a couple of displays in the International fireworks competition this year, I’ve not yet made it to any – This Friday it’s the turn of HongKong/China which could be a good one, so hope I can make it my first fireworks shoot of the year. I mentioned fireworks since tomorrow is the 4th of July and so many in the US will be attending a display. If you are considering taking some pics, I did a little tip sheet last year that you may find of interest – Tips for shooting fireworks…Happy and safe Juy 4th to all South of the border!

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
