Japanese Garden at the Montréal Botanical Garden

Continuing on from yesterday’s post, today I am pleased to share some of the images I took at the Montréal Botanical Garden annual Gardens of Light event. Yesterday it was the Chinese garden, today I have pictures taken in the Japanese garden.

The Japanese Garden

The Japanese Garden was created in 1988 and designed by Ken Nakajima. The garden covers 2.5 hectares and features a pond with Koi carp, bridges, a series of waterfalls and streams and a Japanese pavilion. For more details, check out the Espace pour la vie website.

I had some time before the sunset to visit the garden in daylight…here are a couple of pics to give you a flavor of the tranquil setting.

A highlight for me was the very peaceful animated light display in the forest accompanied by meditative chants and drums. I recorded it but unfortunately the people talking in the background and noise of them walking by detracted from the tranquility, so I will spare you :-/

Reminder that the Gardens of Light event ends on November 3, so if you’re in Montreal and haven’t yet checked it out, It’s worth a trip.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
