Snow covered Place d’Armes

Towards the end of my freezing photowalk around Old Montreal last night I paused to take a few quick shots of a very snow covered Place d’Armes. The square was looking particularly nice with deep snow still lying in the central square, although quite trampled in some parts.

I wish I had made it to Place d’Armes a bit earlier in my walk as by now I was starting to feel a bit numbed by the cold and would have liked to spend more time shooting various angles particularly around the lighted tree, but I dare say I will be back again before the holiday season is over.

I added a subtle paint effect on the next shot using Topaz Simplify

The final shot is almost a replica of a shot that I took back in 2011. I actually sold a copy of the old version yesterday, so it was pretty fresh in my mind, although this time there was snow.
