Winter wonderland in Montreal

Montreal woke to a winter wonderland this morning. Although we have had snow on the ground since the first snow fell on November 27, the storm that began last night and continued throughout the day was the first major snowfall in the city this year, dumping up to 30cm across Montreal.

The city deployed 1,000 snow-clearing machines today and I spotted these 2 sidewalk caterpillar ploughs doing their thing on rue Prince Arthur. When you see one of these on the sidewalk coming toward you, you better jump out of their path quick as they don’t mess about.

Despite the City snow clearance teams out in strength, there was still much shovelling to be done , or for the lucky ones some snow blowing.

Hopefully this is a good sign that we will be having a white Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
