Montreal skyline from avenue du Parc

On my way back from a walk up Mount Royal yesterday, I stopped to grab a few pictures of the Montreal skyline from avenue du Parc.

But before I get to those, here is a shot of La Renommée – the winged figure at the top of the George Étienne Cartier monument. The sun was setting and there was a nice hue of pink in the sky and I thought it would make a nice silhouette.

In the winter, the area around Parc Jeanne-Mance with the expanse of clear space in the foreground and the slightly elevated position makes it a great spot to shoot part of the Montreal skyline from.

Since it was around rush hour and avenue du Parc was busy with traffic, I wanted to get the light trails to be a little more prominent in the image, and so moved a little closer to the road and tried a few slightly different angles/compositions.
