A couple of Shots of Notre Dame des Neiges cemetery

Unfortunately I didn’t manage to shoot anything worth sharing today, so I dug out a couple of shots that I took during a short walk around the Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery last Monday.

I realize I only just recently posted some shots from almost the same location as today’s shots, but did find this great tree that stands guard over a mausoleum.

I came across this wonderful, yet sad, memorial statue. There are some great sculptures throughout the cemetery and I hope to shoot many over time…Could make for a nice series.

During my visit on Monday I didn’t manage to see any of the foxes that inhabit the cemetery, but did come across a woodpecker that stopped his pecking just long enough for me to grab this shot.

Thanks to Les Amis de la Montagne

I recently entered a photo competition run by Les Amis de la Montagne and was thrilled that one of my images won 2nd place in the category “A mountain for all”. This was the image I entered, taken in 2012 at Lac aux Castors. Won’t be long until ice skaters will once again be taking to the ice 🙂

The winning images in each of the 4 categories can be viewed in a Friends of the Mountain gallery on Flickr. All the pictures will also be on display at the cafe in the Smith House during the coming months.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
