Autumn glow at sunrise

On my way back from photographing the Annular Solar Eclipse at the Kondiaronk Belvédère on Mount Royal yesterday morning, I stopped to take a few shots of the Montreal skyline from the corner of avenue du parc and avenue des Pins.

Just as I was beginning to think that the best of the autumn colours was behind us, I was suddenly stopped in my tracks  by the glorious fall colours in the trees next to the Molson Stadium that were literally glowing in the early morning sun light.

The trees along nearby rue Hutchison on the other side of avenue des Pins were also bathed in the early morning light that made for a nice contrast against the backdrop of the downtown buidlings.

Shooting the eclipse was a great excuse to force me out of bed so early on a Sunday morning, but even with no eclipse, going out around sunrise offers some of the best opportunities for photography and I’m always telling myself that I should do it more often…The onset of cold mornings though is not the best time to try and make such promises to oneself 😉

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
