Dorchester Square

It’s Halloween and I had planned on going and shooting some Halloween home decorations like last year and perhaps catch the odd witch or vampire lurking on the streets…but sadly it was a disgusting day out and so I have had to make-do with sharing a few pics of Dorchester Square that I shot while out yesterday (a totally different day weatherwise).

The first shot is a view from the North end of the square looking towards the central Boer War monument. If you want to know a little more on the monumnets and history of the square, I did do a post around this time last year that you may be interested in checking out.

Another statue (there are 4 in Dorchester square) is of Robert Burns on the western side near Peel Street…

The statue was looking particularly elegant yesterday with the backdrop of autumn trees and the beautiful Sun Life building.

Another angle of the édiface Sun Life but from the North West on Dorchester Square street. If you are ever visiting Montreal, just to the left of here (in the gazette building) is the central tourist information office.

Coming from England, I always get a memory of home when I see one of the London tour buses in the city. I haven’t been back to London for a few years but hear that the old red double deckers have pretty much all been replaced with new models. I guess the Montréal tour company Gray Line picked up a few on the cheap as London dispensed with the old models…At least these appear to be in good working order, unlike the submarines the Canadian Government purchased from the UK a few years back 😉

Hope you are having a great Halloween. I purchased lots of candy, knowing full well we never get any kids trick or treating where we live…so guess I will have to do a bit of walking tomorrow to shed off the extra calories. I think I will start with the mini mars bars 🙂

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
