Colour of summer at the Atwater market

It had been quite a while since I had been down to the Atwater Market in the Saint Henri district, so yesterday we decided to jump on the metro and buy some fresh local ingredients for supper.

One of the things I actually love about Atwater Market (as well as the stores) are the rows of yellow lights that hang over the outdoor market area. With all the stalls, it was hard to get a good view of them – actually winter is better for shooting them when the area is empty – but I took a shot anyway.

Unfortunately it looks like they are currently doing some work on the outside of the main building as it was covered with green construction netting. A shame, for those like me who want to photograph it, but I’m sure it will be looking great once they are done – I will be back 😉

To the food stalls (and why we were really here). The fresh fruit looked very tempting…

It’s a shame we don’t live closer – I would be a daily visitor…but at least we bought enough great tasting tomatoes to last the entire week. Now a trip to the other outdoor markets is called for in the the near future – I’ll actually try to take more shots next time.

Thanks for stopping by. Until next time.
