2nd visit to the FrancoFolies de Montréal festival (part 2)

Following on from my visit yesterday to the 25th edition of the FrancoFolies de Montréal festival, here are the rest of the shots I didn’t manage to get to include in yesterday’s post.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but having so many festivals taking place in downtown throughout the year really makes Montréal a fun city to live in…you just need to try and forget all the political scandals, corruption etc that are making headline news around the World at the moment. One thing that Mayor Tremblay pushed for during his time in office was the Quartier des Spectacles and even though there are still phases awaiting completion, it really is a great place to hang pretty much any time of the year – but the whole area kicks up a notch or 3 when there is a festival.

Okay, on to the music – in images anyway…

Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys

I think I must have been a bit tired when compiling the post last night, as I mentioned I got to see four shows, when in fact I saw five…so I may as well start with the act I forgot to mention – Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys who were performing on the Hydro Québec stage. The band are from Louisiana, US and play some good old foot stomping Cajun French music.

BTW – This section of the Quartier des Spectacles is the final piece of the puzzle awaiting a make-over.

Sylvie Paquette

I popped over the street to the SiriusXM stage where the Québec singer Sylvie Paquette was performing.

I’m not sure, but I think this is the famous Québécois sculptor Armand Vaillancourt. His long white hair glowing in the sunlight is what caught my attention.

On to the last act…

Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire

Back to where I started out at the Pub Rickard’s stage was the acadienne alternative rock band Les Hôtesses d’Hilaire. I didn’t have much time to stop and listen as I was late for my dinner, so just managed to grab a couple of quick shots…
