Part of Old Montréal stepped back to the mid 18th Century this weekend when the Pointe-à-Callière organization held it’s annual event where the area surrounding the Montréal Museum of Archaeology and History is transformed into an 18th century market.
Over 100 farmers, artisans and entertainers wore period costumes that gave the sense you had stepped back into Nouvelle-France of 1750.
This year seemed larger than I remember the market being in previous years. There were some great photo subjects and I would have probably stayed longer and got more shots if I wasn’t wilting under the 30+ heat. I still managed to shoot over 150 frames, so probably just as well I left when I did. Thankfully I managed to edit the images down to a little over 20 shots.

The one thing that I did think was that it’s a shame the market ends before it gets dark, I could imagine with lanterns lit it would make for some really great shots. Also, shame this market isn’t every week because the sausages we picked up were great.
