Project 365 – Day 205: Meadow and Mansions of Redpath Crescent

July 23 2012

For today’s image I decided to head up Pine Avenue towards the Montreal General Hospital where there’s a wild meadow at the base of Mount Royal park.

I tone mapped 3 bracketed exposures using Photomatix and some additional processing using Topaz Adjust to try and give it an impressionist look.

Just along the road from the Montreal General Hospital is an enclave of large (and expensive) mansions on Redpath Crescent. Having amazing views of downtown Montreal and backing on to Mount Royal, this area is where some of the most luxurious and expensive real estate of Montreal is found and forms part of the Golden Square Mile wealthy neighborhood. I took a quick walk along the crescent and took a few shots of some of the mansions.

Quite a difference to the McGill Ghetto and Plateau neighborhoods just down the street.
